Life in Zimbabwe

Zimbabwe, known officially as the Republic of Zimbabwe, is a landlocked country in Southern Africa, situated between the Zambezi and Limpopo Rivers. Zimbabwe is bordered by South Africa to the south, Botswana to the south-west, Zambia to the north, and Mozambique to the east.

Zimbabwe is currently ranked 146 out of 191 countries and territories in the Human Development Index (HDI).  More than 3 million people in Zambia face food insecurity, and more than a quarter of people in Zimbabwe earn below the International Poverty Line ($2.15 per day).

Mary's Meals in Zimbabwe

Mary’s Meals has been serving school meals in Zimbabwe since 2018, working in partnership with Mavambo Orphan Care and ORAP (The Organization of Rural Associations for Progress).

Our meals are delivered to children living in the Harare and Mashonaland East Provinces. We also reach children in Umguza District in the southern part of Matabeleland North Province.

Thanks to the support of our two local partners, we are currently reaching more than 100,000 children with a much-needed daily meal in their place of education.
